Alice Miller Nester

Alice Miller Nester passed away February 20, 2017 at NMMC-West Point at the age of 79. She was born May 3, 1937 to the late Joe and Velma Boyd Miller in Electric Mills. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of West Point and a member of UMW Ladies Society. Funeral Service will be Thursday February 23, 2017 at 10 AM at Christ United Methodist Church with Minister Sarah Windham and Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ivy Davenport, Bill Lantz, Eddie Lantz, Jason Bryan, Scott Heard, Greg Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be all men at Christ United Methodist Church, UMW Ladies Society, staff & employees at 4-County, Dr. Andrew Kellum, staff and nurses at the Hematology and Oncology Clinic, Dr. Andrew Wartak, Dr. Tim and Michelle Whittle, North MS Home Health & Hospice, Rev. Dale Funderburg, the Paste Class at the Wellness Center, the Golden Girls, the Bunko Girls, all of her neighbor friends. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 PM at Robinson Funeral Home. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Roy Nester (April) of Itta Bina, Brad Nester of West Point; daughter, Paula Wooten (Shannon) of West Point; brothers, Robert “Bob” Miller of Aberdeen, Joe Frank Miller of Leland; 4 grandchildren, Miller Wilkerson, Jordan Dodson, Caleb Dodson, Alice Amelia Wooten. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Nester; sister, Kate Smith. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or Oak Hill Academy.
