Barbara Jernigan

Barbara Robbins Jernigan passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at NMMC-Tupelo at the age of 84. She was born March 19, 1936 in Laurel, MS. Barbara was the office manager for the family roofing company, David and Son’s Roofing in addition to being a homemaker and very involved in community activities. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Paula Jernigan of Bedford, TX, Laura Todd and Sherry Jernigan of West Point; sons Johnny Jernigan of Ackerman, MS, James Lee Jernigan (Erin) of Euless, TX, grandchildren Jessica Jernigan Stanford (Parker), Christopher Jernigan, Joe Jernigan (Britnie), Nevaeh Cardin, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Jernigan, grandson, John Jernigan, and 2 sisters. Barbara was well known and loved by many in West Point. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class – a group that has loved and supported each other for many years. The family is sincerely grateful to the community for their loving friendships. The family will have a private service with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in the community when it is safe to do so. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
