Barbara Mitchell

Barbara Anderson Mitchell passed away Thursday June 1, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle at the age of 75. She was born May 11, 1948 to the late Robert Terell Anderson and Mattie Catherine Hill Anderson. She was a paralegal for Brown Law office for many years before retirement. She was former president of Golden Triangle WMU where she was involved in GA’s and Mission Friends. She was a member of Cross Point Church in Starkville and an active member of Friends Forever.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday June 3, 2023 at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Robertson officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Bailey, Tanner Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, Joseph Salmon, Denver Mitchell, Mike Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Amber Borden & Staff at Baptist Oncologist & nurses at Cancer Infusion Center.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Mitchell Sr. of Sturgis; her son, Edwin Mitchell Jr. of Mathiston; her daughters, Jeanette Catherine Mitchell Bailey of Starkville, Treasure Katelyn Salmon of West Point; 5 grandchildren, Memory Taylor, Corey Bailey, Victor Mitchell, Tanner Mitchell, Denver Mitchell and 5 great grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Beverly Ann Mitchell; great grandson, Jace Salmon; brother, Bobby Anderson; sister, Sandra McLemore.
