Bernice Richardson

Shirley ‘Bernice’ Richardson passed away Wednesday December 4, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle at the age of 88. She was born May 24, 1936, in West Point, MS to the late Cora Virginia Mitchell and Wiley Calvin Edwards. She worked at Blazon for several years. She was a CNA at West Point Nursing Home and Lowndes General Hospital. She was a volunteer at the Natchez Regional Hospital. She loved the Lord. She also loved football. Her favorite teams were MS State bulldogs, AL Crimson Tide, and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved her animals, and she had a special place for her grand dog, Jak.

 Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday December 7, 2024, at OAR Church Of Christ with Rev. John Bauer officiating. Visitation will be 12-2pm on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Edwards, Dan Parrett, T.J. Drake, Kevon Tucker Jr, Amos Schrock, and Clyde Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Bennette, Dr. Cole Wilkerson, Vernon Edwards, and the Staff at The Windsor.

 She is survived by son, Eddie Ray (Susan) of Hamilton, MS; daughter, Donna Agerton of West Point, MS; sister, Annette Parrett of Brookhaven, MS; 11 Grandchildren, Dakota Coleman, Dustin Ray, Kirby Ray, Jonthan Ray, Harley Ray, Charles Ray, Maryanne Parker (Matt), Kalynn Clardy, Brittany Agerton, Megan Ray, Bryana Coleman; 13 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ricky Ray; a daughter, Shirley Ray; 2 brothers, Virgil Edwards and Ralph Edwards; 2 grandsons, Claude Ray, and Kelen Tucker; a brother-in-law, Hulon Parrett; 2 sisters-in-law, Alice Edwards and Francis Edwards.
