Dorothy Jewel Moore Tedford, 93, of West Point passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2015 at Dugan Memorial Home. Mimi, as she was known by her grandchildren, was born in Shady Grove on October 28, 1921 to the late Nancy Forrester and Alvin Marion, Sr. Moore. She was a resident of Okolona, MS and the wife of the late James Clarence Tedford, Jr. She lived most of her life in the MS Delta around Lambert, MS and Charleston as a farmer's daughter and wife. She and her husband moved to the West Point/Okolona area in the early 60's where she worked in various clothing and jewelry store businesses. She was retired from the State of Mississippi's department of social work.
Services will be Monday February 9, 2015 at 11 AM at Robinson Chapel with Rev. A.M. Sonny Morre, III officiating. Burial will take place in Ivy Family Cemetery in Bruce, MS. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 AM at Robinson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Doyle Brooks, Marty Ivy, Stace Tedford, Jamey Tedford, Jason Phillips, and Cody Denise.
She is survived by four sons, Harold Tedford (Peggy) of Decator, AL, Jimmy Tedford (Joann) of West Point, Ronald Tedford (Bonnie) of Pell City, AL, Donald Tedford of Okolona, MS; daughter, Carolyn Tedford Fox of Murfreesboro, TN; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
