Ethel Portera

Ethel H. Portera Ethel H. Portera of West Point passed away Thursday January 6, 2010 at NMMC-West Point at the age of 87. She was born on September 18, 1923 to the late William McCain and Mary Burton. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Ladies Alter Society. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday January 8, 2011 at 11 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Point with Father Robert Dore and Father John Bonn officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gil Lyon, Brice Cambas, Joe John Portera, Joey Michel, Mack Portera, Steve Portera, Pete Portera, Paul Caskey. A Rosary will be Saturday at 9:30 AM at the church. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Saturday at the church. She is survived by 3 sons, Joe C. Portera (Susan) of West Point, William Portera (Becky) of West Point, Col. Phillip Portera, USAF (Cooper) of Spring Lake, NC; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Bristow of West Point, Will Portera of Memphis, Brian Portera of Starkville, Sarah Hampton Cambas of New Orleans, LA, Cynthia Lyon of West Point; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Shepard of Eupora, Jeanette Reid of Eupora. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Phillip Joe Portera.
