Glenda Colbert passed away Friday February 17, 2023 at NMMC-West Point at the age of 84. She was born May 26, 1938 in Clay County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Pilot Club. She loved her family, her church and her career where she worked as director of health information at Ivy Memorial Hospital, then the new NMMC-West Point Hospital. After she retired from the hospital, she was an elementary substitute teacher at Oak Hill for 15 years where she loved the children she taught.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Monday February 20, 2023 at Robinson Funeral Home with Dr. James Towery officiating. Visitation will be 1-2 PM on Monday at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Riley, Choke Malone, Nate Lampkin, Jamie Snell, Byron Acker, Jacob Davis. Honorary pallbearers are the Duncan family, her Rook Club, the Bunko Girls, Pilot Club of West Point.
She is survived by her son, Greg Colbert (Dawn) of West Point; niece, Stacy Riley (Andy) of West Point; her granddaughter, Baleigh Purvis (Christian); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Lois Busbin Byrd; her husband, the love of her life, Garland Colbert; her sister, Wanda Hamlin.
