Hattie Mae Blake Watkins

Hattie Mae Eaton Blake Watkins, 90, passed away Saturday August 30, 2014 in Columbia, SC. She was born November 13, 1923 in Abbott, MS to the late Katie Kathleen Langford and William A. Eaton. She attended Woodland High School. She worked at Knickerbocker Manufacturing while she attended beautician school on weekends. After obtaining her cosmetology license, she opened Mae's Beauty Salon on Hwy 45 where she worked until moving to Arizona and continuing as a beautician there. In recent years, she has been living in Columbia, SC with her children. Services will be Monday September 1, 2014 at 2 PM at Robinson Chapel with Rev. John Allen Parker officiating. Burial will be in West Point Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday September 1, 2014 from 1-2 PM at Robinson Funeral Home. She is survived by her son, Julian D. Blake of Blythewood, SC; daughters, Carolyn B. Wignes of Columbia, SC, Georgene Gable of Leesville, SC; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julian R. Blake; son, Paul Blake; daughter, Linda Marie Miles; 5 brothers; 1 sister.
