Jack Dyer Elliott, Sr. passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Dugan Memorial Home at the age of 96. He was born May 2, 1919 in Palo Alto to the late Cathrine Hill and Lydwell Elliott, Sr. He was the owner of Elliott’s store in Palo Alto. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII. He was a member of First Christian Church where he served as Elder and was a member of the Men’s 99 Bible Class. He drove the Siloam School bus for many years.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at First Christian Church with Rev. Kirby Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Palo Alto Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Elliott, III, William Elliott, Daniel Elliott, Augustine Elliott, Jeremiah Elliott, Jeb Elliott, Jason Elliott, Joshua Elliott, Justice Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Brand, Dr. Gordon Hazzard, Frank Autrey, David Waide, Charles Waide, David Perry, Charles Elliott, Charles Magers, Doug Shaw, George Elliott, James Clyde Elliott, Robert & Daniel Smith, Elders of First Christian Church.Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home.
He is survived by his sons, Jack Elliott (Kathy), John Elliott (Barbara), James Lydwell Elliott (Peggy), Joseph E. Elliott (Angela), all of West Point; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Jackie Elliott.
