James Bagwell

James Elam Bagwell passed away September 18, 2021 at his residence at the age of 78. He was born November 6, 1942 in Monroe County to the late Margaret Stanford Bagwell and James William Bagwell. He was an appliance technician and worked at West Point TV and Appliance since 1976. He is survived by his wife, Kay Bagwell of West Point; sons, William Bagwell (Vickie) and Rodney Bagwell (Jessica) both of West Point; daughters, Karen Coggins (David) of West Point, Rebecca Plunkett (Shasta) of Mathiston; sister-in-law, Gail Bagwell of West Point; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Clardy (Austin), Matthew Bagwell, Madison Bagwell, Taylor Bagwell, Dakota Bagwell, James Carter Bagwell, Hannah Golson, Evan Golson, Reagan Plunkett, Harley Kate Plunkett; 1 great grandchild, Coleson Clardy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Robert Bagwell Funeral services will be 3 PM Monday September 20, 2021 at Robinson Chapel with Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Bagwell, Keith Bagwell, Evan Golson, Scofield White, Trans Spraggins, Shasta Plunkett. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ron Powell, Dr. Andrzej Wartak, staff at NMMC and NMMC Hospice. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church PO Box 794 West Point, MS 39773.
