Ima Jeanette Cade Brashier passed away at her daughter Cathy's home in Roy, Utah, December 20, 2018. She was 87. Jeanette died of complications of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. She was born July 5, 1931, at Parker, Mississippi, near Bruce. Her parents were Joe William Cade, Sr. and Effie Mae Joblin Cade. She married Benjamin Thomas Brashier, Jr. , May 6, 1951 in Jackson, MS. They lived in Shubuta, MS, until January 1966, when they moved to West Point. Jeanette moved to Roy, Utah upon the passing of her husband, Ben, in 2010. She is preceded in death by her son, Benny Joe Brashier, grandson Christopher Parker Rogers, her husband, Ben, her sister, Peggy Jean Cade Hartzog, and her brother, Joe William Cade, Jr.
Jeanette is survived by her sister, Mary Imojean "Jean" Cade Boatner of Pensacola, Florida; 4 children, Clara Sue Rushing (Buddy) of West Point, MS, Thomas Larry Brashier (Beverly) of Caledonia, MS, Brenda Joyce Brashier of Orem, UT, and Cathy Ann Rogers (Wallace) of Roy, UT; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeanette was an active member of her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, until her body no longer allowed it. Jeanette loved gardening, family history and learning. She was an LPN in her younger years. She was known for her kindness, humility and green thumb, but most of all she was known for her love of her family.
Her viewing will be from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, December 29, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3072 East Church Hill Road, West Point, MS. Funeral service will be at the church from 1:00 till 2:00 PM, after which her burial will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 176 S Frontage Road, Columbus, MS.
