James “Jimmy” Stevenson passed away September 24, 2019 at Dugan Memorial Home at the age of 86. He was born on February 14, 1933 to the late Mattie Taylor Roy Carroll Stevenso
Jimmy worked for 4-County for 35 years and loved bird hunting and training bird dogs. He was a faithful fan of the Atlanta Braves. Jimmy was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Korean War aboard the USS Calliope.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Friday September 27, 2019 at Robinson Chapel with Rev. Raleigh Richter officiating. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bret Miller, Dr. Adelaide Henderson and Employees and Staff at Dugan Memorial Home.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 8 siblings. Jimmy is survived by his Wife of 60 years Sara Elizabeth “Betty” Stevenson; Foster Daughter/Niece, Susie Byrd of West Point; Sister- in-Law Dianne McLemore of Birmingham, AL; 3 Grandchildren, Keri Byrd, Beth Byrd, and Chris Byrd and 3 Great Grandchildren, Justin Byrd, Zachary Byrd, and Ronnie Kay Byrd, and several nieces and nephews.
