John Mario Scalzo of West Point passed away on Monday February 17, 2014 at his residence in West Point at the age of 88. He was born in Calabri, Italy on March 31, 1925 to the late Theresa Falvo and John Scalzo. He was a member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Point, a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII. He was a graduate of MSU and a member of the MSU Alumni Association and a member of the West Point Lions Club.
Funeral services were Saturday with a private family service with Father Channappa Reddy Basani officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Hull Scalzo of West Point; son, Mark Scalzo of Dallas; daughters, Kathryn Wood (Jimmy) of West Point, Janice Kisner (Donald) of Oxford; brothers, Richard Scalzo and Robert Scalzo both of Danbury, CN; sisters, Louise Belanger of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, Mary Theresa McGrath of Venice, FL; 4 grandchildren, Max Hill (Ashley), Khristen Wood Williams (Jason), Nadia Christine Scalzo, Jay Wood; 3 great grandchildren, Anna Louise Hill, Kathryn Elizabeth Williams, James Howard Wood III.
