John Willard ‘Johnny’ Hamblin passed away Monday May 21, 2018 at his residence at the age of 72. He was born January 21, 1946 in Birmingham, AL to the late Muriel Green and Douglas Hamblin. He worked for the American Can Co. for several years then owned his own business as a machinist. He was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and he loved family and friends and Alabama football.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday May 25, 2018 at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Sallee and Rev. R. C. Bryan officiating. His nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday 1-3 PM at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Gail White Hamblin of West Point; daughters, Brandi Vest (Josh) of Missoula, MT, Amanda Hamblin of West Point; brothers, Thomas ‘Tommy’ Hamblin of GA, William ‘Bill’ Barnett of TX; 2 grandchildren, Dade Hamblin, Jessie Hamblin, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Muriel Barnett; his father, Douglas Hamblin.
