Lonnie Carr Boyd

Alonza Carr Boyd passed away Wednesday December 11, 2019 at the age of 80. He was born January 11, 1939 in the Delta to the late Ausbon and Beulah Myers Boyd. He was known by his friends as “A.C.” or “Lonnie”. He was a Retired Master Sargent for the US Army National Guard.

Funeral services will 3 PM Saturday December 14, 2019 at Robinson Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Morris, Phil Smith, Willie Taylor, Johnny McComic, Steve Koehn, Ryan Koeh. Honorary Pallbearers will be Max Hinshaw, Barry Sansing, Sonny Osburn, Jimmy Peden, Steve Barnett, Ralph Collier, 223 National Guard Armory and the Starkville Gun Club. Visitation will be held on Saturday December 14, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home from 2 - 3 PM.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Boyd of West Point; step-sons, Randall Morris of AR, Dennis Morris of FL, Robert Morris of FL; special cousin, Virginia Collier of Raymond, MS; special nieces, Jennifer Summerlin (Phil), Amy Ellis (Griff); 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Avis Laverne Howard.
