Michael Lee "Mike" Pierce, a resident of West Point, Mississippi went to be with our heavenly father on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the age of 54 years old. Michael was born on October 1, 1961 in West Point. Michael graduated from West Point High School in 1979 and from Mississippi State University with a degree in Accounting and served as a Certified Public Accountant for 30 years. He loved spending time with family and friends, deer hunting, MSU baseball, and coaching baseball.
He leaves behind a beloved wife Mellie Hoskins Pierce; children, Anna Margaret Ward (Joel), Michael Riley Pierce, Sidney Pierce, Danielle Phillips, and Summer Parris (Colby); his parents, Clyde “Baby Doll” and Joyce Pierce; brothers, Robby Pierce (Terri), Reggie Pierce; he will be also be greatly missed by his granddaughters Issabella Eliane Vaughn and Hartlee Abigail Parris and Suzanne Elizabeth Ward (expected in February 2017); and his beloved bulldog Eli Hoskins Pierce.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday September 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Glusenkamp, Hal Barkley, Gil Lyon, Marc Shipman, Billy Buck Staggers, Julius McClenton, Colby Parris. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Ray, Charlie, Morgan, Bill Faulkner, Bill Gibson. Visitation will be 1-3 PM Friday at the church.
