John Micheal ‘Mike’Garnett passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle at the age of 63. He was born December 22, 1951 in West Point to Frances Criddle and the late Jack B. Garnett. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge #40 and a member of the Scottish Right, also an avid Ole Miss football fan.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Robinson Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Masonic Rights. Pallbearers will be Charles ‘Hoss’ McComic, James Scott, Steven Faulkner, Gary Bartlett, Harrison Terry, James Lofton. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Davis, Charles Gaskin, and Lynn Chism. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM at Robinson Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Luter of Hattisburg, Kelley Cook, Krystal Wallace both of Olive Branch; brothers, Terry Garnett of West Point, Chad Garnett of Starkville; sisters, Judy Oglesby of Columbus, Jackie Wilson of West Point; his mother, Frances Garnett of West Point; special friend, Michelle Simmons of West Point; 7 grandchildren.
