Pete Montgomery

James Robert “Pete” Montgomery passed away Monday June 11, 2018 at NMMC-Tupelo at the age of 71. He was born June 4, 1947 to the late James Lewis and Elsie Murph Montgomery. He worked with cattle at PLI for many years then worked as a fireman for the West Point Fire Dept.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday June 14, 2018 at Robinson Chapel with Rev. Chris Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bert Parker, Danny White, Allen Flint, Sedrick Hogan, Kenneth Wooten, Dylan Davis, Rob Montgomery, Cody Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Bubba White, Mike Doss, and the West Point Fire Department. 

He is survived by his son, Jim Montgomery (Samantha) of West Point; daughter, Jennifer Prewitt (Robert) of Brandon; brother, Roger Montgomery (Paulette) of Pascagoula; 6 grandchildren, Sylvia Smith (Paul), Riley Prewitt, Mallory Montgomery, Haley Montgomery, Harlee Salmon, Triston McCamey; great-grandchild, Gabe Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Libby Montgomery; sisters, Ellen Johnson, Gail Montgomery.
