Rebecca Lynn Sides passed away Wednesday February 26, 2025 at UMC in Grenada at the age of 49. She was born October 25, 1975 to Albert Wayne Doster and the late Brenda Fuller. Becky had a faithful journey and recently got baptized last spring. She spent her Sundays at her father‘s church listening to sermons, and she spent most of her last 10 years building a strong spiritual walk. She’s always believed in God, but she spent more time studying the Bible and learning gospel music and being an active part of her dad‘s church.
In recent years, her mom passed and she really did spend some time grieving her mom‘s death, but even though she was sad about her mom‘s passing, and she was able to clutch onto some joy and happiness in her life and she enjoyed a good sense of humor, and sharing fun times with her husband. One of her favorite past times was going to Tin Lizzie for a meal and in fact, she developed such a relationship that on the holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas she and Lawrence visited the home of an employee of Tin Lizzie and celebrated. Her love for food was big. And she loved her family. When she had a little extra cash Lawrence and her would enjoy trips to the casino.
Throughout her life, the struggle was real, but she always found the courage and strength to press on, and her true grit was demonstrated as she would fight cancer in the last four months of her life. We will always remember her tenacity of a bulldog and her stubbornness. She had a way of living simply and finding joy in her day-to-day walk.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Sides of West Point; her father, Wayne Doster of West Point; a brother, Daniel M. Criddle of Columbus; 2 aunts, Donna Johnson Thomas (Tim) of MD, Sherri Cruz of NC; an uncle, Larry Harless (Ollie) of NC; several other aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
