Mrs. Rebecca Ann Palmer White, 74, finished her earthly race and stepped into the arms of Jesus on October 1, 2023, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point, MS. Rebecca was born June 14, 1949, in West Point, the daughter of the late Thomas Eldridge and Mary Catherine McGraw Palmer.
She spent many years either studying or teaching piano and played for several West Point High School choral competitions, community musical productions, including West Point’s April Fool’s Follies, and other community events. She was also a former pianist for Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. Rebecca had a strong interest in genealogy and devoted a great deal of time updating local cemetery records and helping friends and family with their ancestry projects. One of her greatest joys was leading and participating in praise and worship. She attended First Baptist Church, West Point.
Rebecca married William Ernest (Ernie) White August 1, 1968. Together, they built a life that she loved. She was Rebecca to friends, Becca to her husband, Mom to her children, and Granna to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, John Thomas White and Christopher Scott White, a daughter, Laura White Hollis (Kris), and two grandsons, Samuel Bryant Hollis and Benjamin Scott Hollis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lee Palmer Branch.
The family would like to thank the staff of Windsor Place, specifically Philwood Suites, in Columbus, MS, the staff of Dugan Memorial Home, the staff of Sanctuary Hospice, and Robinson Funeral Home for the assistance and love they have given Rebecca while she was in their care.
