Russell Charles Hazzard, 96, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2014 at NMMC-West Point. He was born November 4, 1917 in Webster County to the late Charlie and Elizabeth Taylor Hazzard. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Leland for 50 years until moving to Clay County in 2005 and joined New Montpelier Baptist Church.
Services will be Thursday August 7, 2014 at 2 PM at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Webster County with Rev. Jerry King officiating. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-2 PM at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be John William Hazzard, Rusty Hazzard, Peter Hazzard, John Allen Hazzard, Richard Fedrick, Tony Tharp. Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Hazzard.
He is survived by his three sons, Charlie Joe Hazzard (Faye) of Aberdeen, John Allen Hazzard (Linda) of Cedar Bluff, Mark Wayne Hazzard (Jobyna) of Greenville; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna Mae Hazzard; son, William Russell Hazzard; daughter, Ginger Faye Fedrick; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
