Sara Elizabeth Robinson Heredia 6/7/1932 - 2/20/202 . Sara was born and raised in West Point MS where she was affectionately known as “Sara Beth”. She graduated from West Point high school where she played basketball and ran track.She also showed Tennessee walking horses. Sara was always well known for her strong work ethic. She attended Bowling Green University and worked for Beneke Corporation for many years where she developed many life long friendships.Sara loved to travel. She combined that love with with her business acumen and opened J and S Travel with her friend Jane Kellogg.In the 1980’s Sara organized many large group ski trips from Columbus for spring break.She, her son Kenny, lots of his friends and their families made memories on the slopes of Colorado and Utah.After retirement Sara enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards and having Sunday lunch At Proffitts Porch. Sara’s greatest joy was her devoted son Kenny and her three precious grandchildren Reade, Mattox and Hayes who lovingly referred to her as ‘Say’. She enjoyed attending their school and sporting events and celebrating holidays with them. Sara especially loved Christmas when she was affectionately called ‘Sara Claus’ because of her abundant gift giving. Sara loved dogs and always had at least one that she was spoiling. Sara was 91 when her beloved Rudy passed away and she didn’t wait any time before adopting Gidget who was with her till the end.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth David Robinson and Elizabeth Hurst Robinson; sisters, Vannie (Van) Cameron and Linda Barnett; her Husband, Frank N. Heredia. She is survived by Son, Kenneth Duane Heredia (wife Michelle); granddaughter, Reade Elizabeth Wallace (husband Taylor); Grandsons, Mattox Robinson Heredia and Hayes Kenneth Heredia.
A Memorial Services will be held 2 PM Saturday February 22, 2025 at First Methodist Church in Columbus. Visitation with family and friends will be 1-2 PM Saturday at the church. Honorary Pallbearers are John Dill, Douglas Doster, Douglas Ford, Tim Landrum, Tim Threadgill, Tom Wolford.
