Shirley Ray

Shirley Jean Ray passed away Monday November 12, 2018 at her residence in West Point at the age of 61. She was born February 10, 1957 in Chicago to Bernice Edwards and the late Johnny Ray. She was a member of Church of Christ. She loved crafts, owls and she loved to cook. Shirley loved MSU football and the Dallas Cowboys. She worked at Pappy’s for several years.                            

A celebration of life will be 10 AM Wednesday November 14, 2018 at Robinson Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mitchell Parrett, Dan Parrett, Bob Johnston, Harley Ray, Kirby Ray, Amos Schrock, Luke Johnston. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Moore, Dr. Charles Pound, Dr. Jack Rodiquez, Houlon Parrett, Ecompass Hospice. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Ray of Columbus; 2 grandchildren, Tyrell Drake, Jr. and Addlyn Ray; mother, Bernice Edwards Richardson of West Point; brothers, Ricky Ray of West Point, Eddie Ray (Carol) of Natchez; sister, Donna Agerton of West Point, special aunt, Annette Parrett; aunts, Alice Edwards and Frances Edwards; special nieces, Kalynn Clardy, Brittany Agerton, Mary Anne Brown, Breanna Coleman; nephews, Cody Ray, Dustin Ray, Kirby Ray, Johnathan Ray, Harley Ray, Charles Ray; numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wiley and Virginia Edwards; uncles, Ralph Edwards and Virgil Edwards; nephews, Claude Ray, Brian Lemmons, Kelen Tucker; sister-in-law, Sherrie Ray.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Natchez -Adams Humane Society.
