Thomas Earl Allen Sr., 82, of West Point, passed away on July 16, 2023 at North MS Medical Center in West Point, MS. He was born in Houston, MS to the late Mary Alice Latham White and the late Charles Marion Allen (Vara Lee) on September 5, 1940. He was a graduate of Houston High School’s class of 1958. He married Georgia Louise Phelps on January 29, 1960. He worked as an A fitter and inspector for Babcock & Wilcox for 31 years. He was the secretary/treasurer of the Boilermaker Local 903 (AFL-CIO), as well as, a rescue deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue. He was a devoted member of Free Praise & Worship Center in West Point.
Thomas was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His infectious smile could light up any room, and he loved making others laugh. He loved spending time with his family, especially his “gals.” He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and tending to his goats and donkey.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby Wayne Allen and Roy Lane Allen and his grandson, Jason Hatfield.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise; two daughters, Donna Velez of Millington, TN and Debbie Hatfield of West Point; one son, Thomas Earl Allen Jr. (Kim) of Maben; two granddaughters, Mamie Easley (Charlie) of Starkville and Macie Gore (Trent) of Maben, as well as, two great granddaughters, Lucie Kathryn Easley and Tinslee Marie Gore.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday July 19, 2023 at Robinson Chapel with Rev. Wayne Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Moriah Cemetery in Webster County. Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Easley, Trent Gore, Riley Thompson, Richard Davis, Thomas Wayne Allen, Bobby Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Vail, Dr. William Rice, NMMC-West Point and Tupelo Staff, NMMC Hospice. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home.
