Yvonne R.'Lucy' Blankenship passed away on Sunday January 20, 2013 at OCH in Starkville, MS at the age of 84. She was born July 25, 1928 in Clay County to the late Elma Thornton and A. P. Ray. She retired from Knickerbocker & Big Yank clothing factory. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Tibbee Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday January 23, 2013 at 10 am at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mayhew Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Dedeaux, John Blankenship, Allen Langley, Wayne Kerkendall, Kevin Elfring, Donnie Dominio, Doug Arick. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Ladd, Lamar Wilburn, Tony Cates, Allen Wood, Dr. John Hollister.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Blankenship of West Point; sons, J.C. 'Bud' Johnson of Columbus, Charles Therroin Johnson (Nancy) of West Point, Mickey Blankenship (Dianne) of Alverado, TX; Niece, Debbie Cox (Dave); 9 grandchildren, Tammy Langley (Allen), Christy Estes (David), Jetaime Booth, Tim Johnson (Dawn), Michelle Solomon (Jame), Kim Gore, Angela Blankenship, Stacey Blankenship, Jeffrey Blankenship; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lane Blankenship; sister, Elva Mae Wallace; grandson, Garry Johnson.
